Why do I need a consultation?
A consultation allows us to find out about contra-indications that might prevent or restrict treatment and, if there are some, how the treatment might be adapted.
Furthermore, it will give important information regarding your lifestyle, medical history, injuries, current medications, diet and sleep pattern, of which all need to be taken into consideration for a safe and professional treatment.
How does massage help to prevent injuries?
Massage can reduce muscle pain and tension by removing lactic acid and so reduce tendon inflammation.
It can enhance flexibility in soft tissue structures, and thus reduce the danger of tears, strains and ruptures.
How often should you get a massage?
The answer is based on the immediate need, ongoing training regime, lifestyle and general maintenance of each individual client.
Initially, it can be necessary to receive treatment every few days, then perhaps weekly and then once a month.
Others, only involved in light exercise or in the need of mainly relaxation, might need to be treated only every 6-8 weeks.
